You’re the reason this site exists. Whether you own a business, dream of freedom, or are a client, friend, or family member, this site was created for you. All the years I’ve spent stuffing my brain with scraps of knowledge about business, psychology, technology, learning and the web are being combined here into something I think will be uniquely useful to some of you.

And I know how arrogant it can sound to claim “unique” on the web. The knowledge isn’t. The mix, the presentation, the approach will be, and for those of you who really want to be enabled to create your own site on the web that supports your business and your dreams, I’ve got some pretty useful stuff coming. My Background And Some Of The Hats I Wear

Writer

For some of us, it takes decades to admit what we are, at the core of our being. Better late than never. This blog is the start of an action plan resulting from my decision to make my living doing what I enjoy, working only with people I enjoy serving, where I enjoy being.

Trainer

Over 20 experience as a corporate trainer, teaching business skills and software. I think you’ll find my resulting What, Why, How approach helpful.

Entrepreneur

I love building businesses, and helping others build their own “freedom businesses”. I’ve realized that I’m one of those “unmanageable” folk that just don’t fit well in most corporate hierarchies – there are so managers around that truly value independence and initiative. I’ve been in many different roles from the proverbial mail room to owner to director of a $50,000,000 company… Don’t get me wrong, I love working with a team, either as a member or as a leader. I just haven’t encountered as much positive management out there as there should be… but that’s a topic for another site, one day. The joy of entrepreneurship is that you can do it your way, and only you are responsible for the consequences.

Management Consultant

Since 2004, I’ve owned and run Corestone Management Consulting. It’s evolved into primarily an OBM (Online Business Management) business where I support a select few clients in achieving their business goals, with a smattering of SEO copywriting and web presence consulting for variety.

Wow Guild Leader

Good leadership is one of the things that I continually work at being able to do and teach. I’m really into it. So during some of my recreation time, I run a raiding guild in World of Warcraft, and I occasionally blog about it too, at Defeat Dragons.

Speaker

I don’t do too much public speaking except when presenting a course, but I’ve been known to crawl out in public every now and then when there’s information worth sharing.

Photographer

My only hint of artistic talent, other than writing, photography is another thing I really enjoy, although I rarely do much of it.

Geek

What can I say? I’m a techie, although I guess I’m medium-core about it. I do build and fix my own computers and websites, but I’m not a hardcore programmer (although I can talk to them and we both enjoy the conversation). Because of years of teaching technology, since the days that computers came without hard drives, I can generally translate geekspeek into the common tongue. I hope you’ll find that valuable!
